Nike SB captured alot of attention by releasing a pair of “Charity Dunks” which were sold on eBay. These Nike Dunk SBs were 1 of only 2 pairs in the world . The shoes were made in the eBay colors and the Nike Dunk SBs ended up selling for over $30,000! The money all went to charity, but a wise move by Nike brough millions of dollars worth of advirtising by releasing these exclusive limited Nike Dunk SBs.
There have been many legendary Nike Dunk SBs. In fact, there are only a handful of Nike skateboarding shoes that sell for more than $150 that are NOT Dunk SBs. On the flip side, unless there are a ton of supply, it is rare to find a nice looking pair of Nike Dunk SBs selling for less than $150. Some of the most famous Dunk SBs are the first Supremes, Heinekens, Supas, Forbes, Mulder, Tiffanys, and Calis to just name a very few.
Nike SB Dunks are not sold everywhere, in fact they are often hard to find. The best way to find a place that sells them is to go to the official Nike Skateboarding website which is NikeSkateboarding.com. To talk it up about Nike Dunk SBs with other SB fans, check our NikeSkateboarding.org.
There have been many special events celebrated with the Nike Dunk SBs. There were special skateboarding Dunks made for St. Pattys day in 2005. Also, there have been some ultra-rare Lebron Nike Dunk SBs even though Lebron James doesn’t skate. The Nike Dunk SB was also the first shoe that Nike did colaborations with other artists and companies.
All out havoc broke out in New York when there was the super rare release of the Nike Dunk SB “Pigeons.” In February 2005, a mini riot broke out at a store on New York’s Lower East Side as sneakerheads camped out in freezing temperatures for days to get the new Nike Dunk SB release, the Pigeon Dunk, for $300 a pair. When the store opened, according to the New York Post, 70 people were in line. Twenty got the shoes, the other 50 got attitudes. Police were deployed on scene before hand because many knew what would happen when news got out to the sneakerheads who waited outside in freezing temperatures for several days for nothing.
